Club Captains 2007

L to R   James Newbon (captain) Charles Spencer (vice captain), Gordon Smart (president), Briony Maple (Captain) and Karen Yendole (vice-captain).

Competitive, Intermediate and Main Squad

Main squad is for the fully committed competitive swimmer, from about 12 years upwards. Intermediate is preparation.

The coach will select swimmers for places, from Junior Squad and maybe 5*, 6* or Bronze. Swimmers with a track record may join straight into this group.

Early morning sessions are a MUST for these swimmers, who will spend up to 9 sessions or 13.5 hours a week training. Land training and flexibility sessions are also part of a squad swimmers week. All squad swimmers will be expected to put selection for a swim in galas as a priority, to work with coaches and uphold the proud name of Poole Swimming Club.

The coaches will prepare full and detailed training schedules, adapted to  swimmers needs and competitive program as necessary.

The cost of water time offered to squad and the paid coach is reflected in the swim fees. The cost of galas and entry fees, where applicable , club kit and travel is the responsibility of the swimmer.

All squad swimmers are automatically entered in the annual club championships.
