Schools Galas

These are the dates for the forthcoming Poole Schools Galas:
Thursday 11th February Poole Yrs 5&6 / ESSA relays
             Thursday 11th March  Poole & E.Dorset Yr 4 gala
              Thursday 22nd April Poole & E.Dorset Yrs 7&8
             Times:  11.30 for 12.00 noon start - 2.45pm

If any of you are available to help at any of these events - please could you let me know!

Note from webmaster:  These galas are mainly run by the pensioner contingent of local swimming officials... some help from parents of school swimmers would be very useful, maybe just as a timekeeper. Contact your school swim teacher or Gina to offer assistance. If you are coming to watch offer to help!

Many thanks
Gina Wilcox ( DSSA - Sec)

County Hats

Dear All

County Champs hats will be available for the first time in 2010, price £4.50. There will be a limited number available so if any of your swimmers would like to pre-order, they may do this via the DCASA website on www.dorsetasa.org.

I would be grateful if you could circulate this email to all swimmers who have a Counties invite or have since achieved a consideration time for the event.

And finally, a very Happy New Year to you all.

with best wishes
Di

YOUNG VOLUNTEERS PROGRAMME

Dear Club Secretaries and Volunteers Officers

Young Volunteers Programme 2009-2010

This season's Dorset Young Volunteers Programme will start with an initial briefing on Sunday 17 January at Bournemouth University, and end on Sunday 18 July (date tbc) when participants will be invited to a workshop where they can undertake a Team Managers course and training as a Young Official.

During this period of time your Young Volunteers are asked to complete 20 hours within your club over a range of different activities, but can specialise in whatever interests them most (which may be various aspects of club organisation, helping with teaching on poolside, officiating at club champs etc) supervised by your mentors.

Please could you provide me with a list of those from your club who would like to participate on the Programme - before Christmas if possible please.

If your club uses Ranx, I only require names, but for other clubs I will need a DoB plus postal and email addresses please.

with best wishes
Di
